Dining, nightlife, and transport options are generally less concentrated here, so this stay makes more sense for travelers who are happy planning around the location rather than expecting lots within easy reach.

For the Full Moon Party, Songkler is workable but not close in the way party-focused stays in Haad Rin are. The party area is about 9.1 km away, which is roughly 17 minutes by taxi, while walking would be impractical for most people, especially after dark. That makes this hostel better for travelers who want to go out for the event and then return to a quieter side of Koh Phangan afterward. If your plan is to be in the middle of nightlife every night, staying nearer the south of the island would be more convenient.
